On August 19-21, 2022, the 8th Academic Conference of the Transcutaneous Administration Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, hosted by the Committee and organized by Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and co organized by LuGen Instrument Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., BASF (China) Co., Ltd., Thermo Fisher Scientific (China) Co., Ltd., and others, was held in Hefei. This conference focuses on the theme of "Inheriting Innovation, Joint Win Win", with a particular emphasis on the key issues of scientific research and industrialization of innovative drugs for transdermal delivery, hospital preparations, beauty cosmetics, and external health products of traditional Chinese medicine. More than 50 experts from the United States, Japan, as well as China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Sun Yat sen University, China Pharmaceutical University, Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other domestic and foreign institutions gave academic presentations.The National Nanomedicine Engineering Center of Huazhong University of Science and Technology successfully hosted the 7th Academic Conference in 2021 and was awarded the "Annual Contribution Award" by the Percutaneous Drug Delivery Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. Five members including Professor Liu Wei and Dr. Zhou Hong from the National Nanodrug Engineering Center's transdermal drug delivery research and development team participated in this national transdermal drug delivery academic event. Professor Liu Wei, as the Vice Chairman of the Transdermal Drug Delivery Professional Committee, presided over the academic report meeting of the main forum of the conference. Dr. Zhou Hong gave an academic report entitled "Research on the Treatment of Atopic Dermatitis with Extracellular Vesicles of Skin Microorganisms" at the Youth Forum of the conference. The innovative research work carried out by the engineering center team in the field of transdermal drug delivery has been highly praised by the attending experts.
